When I started the studio in 1999, I couldn’t have imagined what it would become — and how much it would mean to me. From Camp Firebelly to Typeforce, Firebelly U, Reason to Give and Grant for Good, it’s been more than I could have ever, ever imagined. 

For almost 22 years now, I’ve been running things with every ounce of my soul. It’s never been just a business or a job or even a career. It’s been my identity. It’s been my family. It’s been my heart. It’s been my everything.

Earlier last year I realized that for me and Firebelly to continue growing, it was time to pass the torch. In January, a new managing director will begin leading the company and our incredible team into the next 20+ years. I’ll remain a part of the company (how could I not?) in an advisory role, like a board of directors of one.

At the end of the day, my role has always been about relationships. Regardless of my title, I could never give those up, so rest assured I’m not disappearing. I am, however, stepping away from the daily grind of leading the company and a community. I don’t know what my next act will look like, but I’m excited about all of the possibilities.

Thank you for your kindness, patience, expertise, transparency, assurance, guidance, and more than anything, trust. Firebelly does not exist without you.
